I chose to install 4 drawers as opposed to a single drawer. I left the supports 1 inch from the table edge in case I want to use the table as a bed. I mounted the support strip almost flush with the side of the table that touches the carpet wall. More luck than skill but I got the grooves in the mounting strips such that the drawers are tight enough that they don’t slide open but easily open when you pull on the drawers. The drawers have a little lip on the front but you can easily reach the back of the drawer for easy opening. They easily slide in and out for packing and cleaning.
